Chief of Staff
Daniel supports the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology (OVPIT) in implementing operational and strategic initiatives. Daniel also collaborates with the OVPIT cabinet to help fulfill the office's mission of information technology development and use in support of the university's vision for excellence in research, teaching, and lifelong learning. In addition, he serves as the university’s affiliate member representative to the Open Source Initiative, and he guides IT outreach to university, research and education, and private sector audiences.
Daniel previously served as associate director of the Center on American and Global Security at Indiana University. Prior to this role, Daniel was director of international programs for the non-profit One Global Economy (which he helped found) and its parent organization, One Economy. He specializes in information and communications technology for economic development, most recently focusing on digital inclusion and broadband mapping in the US Pacific island territories.
Daniel has an MA in Arab studies with a concentration in business and economics from Georgetown University, and a BA in international relations from Brown University.
